Ingredients

Kostol STMS

Cationic o/w emulsifier. Provides superior conditioning and frizz reduction. Promotes luxurious stable foam. Increases skin moisturization and adds a powdery after-feel. Usage level 1-8%.

Kostol PGP

Non-ionic o/w emulsifier. Provides a quick break and light feel, without affecting viscosity. Designed for multiple formula types, wide pH tolerance. Usuage level 2-6%.

Cocoa Butter

Natural wax extracted from Cocoa beans. Low melt point solid, provides thickening, some structure, and nourishment to skin and hair. Emollient, thickener, glossy finish. Usage level up to 100%.

Kester Wax K-24

Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase A ingredients one at a time in order given, mixing well after each one while heating to 80–85°C.
  • Combine Phase B ingredients, heat to 85°C, and mix until homogeneous.
  • Add Phase B to Phase A and mix well.
  • Cool to 55°C or under and add Phase C. (pH should be approximately 4–4.5, adjust as needed.)

Stability Information

Three months at 45°C, three months at room temperature.
