Ingredients

  • SynKos Wax 2050: Synthetic wax that increases melt point and provides hard structure in anhydrous formulas, mimics the properties of medium melt paraffins, ozokerites, polyethylenes. Economical, versatile structurant.
  • Synthetic Candelilla Wax: Wax blend designed to mimic the properties of natural candelilla wax. Hard and brittle, provies structure and gloss. Cost effective alternative to candelilla wax. Usage level 1-20%.
  • Kester Wax K-82P: Unique plasticizer. High melt point soft wax improves stability, compatibility, and feel of anhydrous systems without affecting structure. Creates jellies and squeezables. Usage level 0.25-20%.
  • Kester Wax K-24: Naturally derived wax ester of plant origin. Low melt point semi-solid, melts on body contact, provides cooling sensation. Adds slip, reduces greasy feel, dimethicone alternative. Usage level up to 50%.

Procedure

  • Combine Phase B/Color Base ingredients and mill until homogeneous.
  • Melt and mix Phase A.
  • Next, slowly add the color base to Phase A.
  • Once the pigments have been dispersed into Phase A, add Phase C.
  • Mix quickly until uniform and pour into molds.

Stability Information

Three months at 45°C, three months at room temperature, three freeze/thaw cycles, one month at high relative humidity.
